On some level, I appreciate that the Governator is saying "FU" to California voters that opposed the budget balancing ballot measures. If you want the services, you have to pay the taxes.
These cuts also highlight the idiocy of ballot-driven government in general, such as not being able to cut some programs because they were specifically enacted by ballot measure, with the result that unprotected programs are wiped out.
