Man is this ugly. Compare to the sedan concept from Lamborghini shown recently, which looks awesome. Unfortunately, that may not be built, because Porsche now controls VW, which owns Lamborghini.

Ha ha, awesome.

The main AMG guy on the new album: "The production is so dense it’s hard to warm to, but it fits the music. These aren’t songs that grab and hold, they’re songs that unfold, so much so that Chinese Democracy may seem a little underwhelming upon its first listen: it’s not just the years of pent-up anticipation, it’s that Axl spent so much time creating the music — constructing the structure then filling out the frame — that there’s no easy way into the album."

Interesting take on the multi-layered, multi-faceted album.
"The craziness on “Chinese Democracy” isn’t the wild, brawling arrogance that the young Mr. Rose and his rowdy ’80s band mates gave the fledgling Guns N’ Roses. It’s the maniacal attention to detail that’s possible in the era of Pro Tools: the infinitude of tiny tweaks available for every instant of a track, the chance to reshape every sound and reshuffle every setting, to test every guitar solo ever played on a song — or all of them at once — and then throw on a string arrangement for good measure."

I forgot about this, Chuck Klosterman filed a joke review of "Chinese Democracy" on April Fools Day 2006.

Excellent, "Jesus Christ Pose" is one of the tracks. One of my faves off Badmotorfinger. I'm surprised they picked it, since it's a bit obscure. Now I'm inspired to fire up some old Soundgarden. I also do enjoy "Mr. Brightside," cheesy though it may be.

Joe P is now my favorite baseball writer. Entertaining posts, amusing digressions, ability to laugh at himself. And he is a stat guy (like Rob Neyer, say). Here's his attempt to reconcile the illogical column from Thomas Boswell, esteemed baseball writer and hero to Posnanski, with Posnanski's love of Boswell.
